Jim would have been 77 today. He died in 1990 from a bacterial infection. So let’s all give him a big ol’ HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Mr. Henson was a one of a kind artist. From acting, music, documentaries, etc. He was always pushing the boundaries in whatever sparked his imagination. Including “The Cube”.
The Cube, saw Henson dip further into experimental film making. Scripted in 1966 with his lifelong writing partner Jerry Juhl and produced in 1969. Also, there is Time Piece. Time Piece showcases Henson’s burgeoning expertise in conveying emotions and thought processes through incongruous images and strong sound effects.
Now, for a unique sample of the artistic mind of Jim Henson. Cyclia was the name of the night club Jim Henson designed from 1967-1970. It was claimed to be “the club of the future”. The Club was designed, but never put into production. He posted some of the sketches in his book The Works.
Now, dig up all the old toys and books. And let your imagination fly. Happy Birthday Jim
TMZ has reported that rapper Chief Keef owes his landlord $10,000 in back rent. The Landlord claims Chief Keef has not paid his $4,700 a month rent since June, and is now filing for an eviction. Along with Keef, his Uncle who handles his affairs is also being sued. Valued at over $1 million, the house is 5,100 square feet with 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.
For some odd reason, artists don’t like to be called “sellout”. And one party goer found that out quickly. At the nightclub LIV in Miami, Calvin Harris was approached with this kind word. Not taking it very lightly, he retorted with
“Why do you come to a fucking Calvin Harris show where Calvin Harris is DJing and don’t want to hear a fucking Calvin Harris record you dumb fucking bitch”.
I mean, can you really blame the guy? What’s your thoughts?

“I’m sure nobody wants a long cheesy speech, so i’ll keep it short.
Firstly, i’m out of the hospital after the most brutal week of my life and incredibly grateful to be alive and on the (pretty damn painful) road to recovery.
It is of course still early days, but the surgeon has given me the thumbs up and seems happy with how the surgery went. I have read over this page and all of the comments on it and am absolutely blown away by how much love, encouragement and good intentions there are from all of you lovely people. It is for me personally, one of the most moving and humbling things i’ve witnessed from you guys in all the 22 years of my music making. I cannot thank you enough for your love and support.
In addition to thanking you all, i’d also like to publicly thank the surgeon (Dr. Douglas Murphy) and all at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Also to my friends, family and my manager for sticking close to me through all of this.
Much love and respect,
The 6x Grammy award winner will be teaming up with 3Loco and Mad Decent’s Riff Raff. In an interview with MTV Australia, Riff Raff “accidentally” spouted out about his new album coming out with Skrillex.
“Yeah? Me and Skrillex have an album coming out. I mean we have a song coming out. Oh sh*t. That’s what I do when I speak too soon. I can’t tell you more than that.”
Seems as if Skrillex has been getting his feet wet with Hip Hop infused with his music as of lately. I wonder what’s in the works in the OWSLA camp? But when you throw Mad Decent in the bunch, you can only believe there is going to be madness.
